How a tracker connects

Three steps from a new tracker to a dot on the map.

  1. Point the tracker at the server

Set the server address and port, usually with an SMS command or the maker’s tool. We give you both for each tracker model.

  2. Add it by its IMEI or ID

Create the vehicle in the platform and enter the tracker’s IMEI or ID, then set its name, group and expiry date.

  3. See it live

Position, ignition, battery and alarms appear on the live map, and geofences and alerts start working.

Questions about tracker compatibility

What people ask before they buy trackers.

Which GPS tracker brands work with eTracking GPS Tracking Software?
More than 250 protocols, including Teltonika, Concox, Jimi IoT, Coban, Sinotrack, Queclink, Suntech, Meitrack, Ruptela, Topflytech, Tzone, Huabao JT808 and many personal, kids, watch and OBD trackers. The families above are the most common; the full list of protocol names is further down this page.
How do I know if my tracker model will work?
A tracker works when it speaks one of the supported protocols. Look up the protocol or family in the list, or send us the make, model and, if you have it, the protocol name from the manual. We will confirm it on WhatsApp, and our own live fleet already runs Jimi VG03 and ET25, Concox GT06N and Teltonika FMB920.
What is the difference between a protocol and a tracker model?
A protocol is the language a tracker uses to send its data to the server. One protocol, such as the GT06 family, is spoken by many models from many makers, so a model that is not named on this page may still work. Different families can also report different extras, such as fuel, temperature or driver ID.
How does a tracker connect to the platform?
You set the server address and port in the tracker, usually with an SMS command or the maker’s configuration tool, and add the tracker to the platform by its IMEI or ID. Once it connects, its position, status and alarms appear on the live map. We give you the address and the port for each tracker model.
My tracker is not listed. What can I do?
Send us the make, model and manual on WhatsApp. Many trackers use a protocol that is already supported under a different name, and we will check it for you. Brand and model names on this page are trademarks of their owners and are used only to show which trackers work with the software.
Can I mix different tracker brands in one account?
Yes. Every protocol feeds the same live map, dashboard, geofences, alerts and reports, so a fleet can mix Teltonika, Concox, Jimi IoT, Coban and other trackers, and personal or kids’ trackers can sit on the same map as vehicles.

Not sure your tracker will work?

Send us the make and model and we will tell you, and show you the platform with your own scenario.
