GPS Tracker with Engine Kill in Pakistan — How It Works and Which Package Includes It

The most powerful anti-theft feature of a modern GPS tracker is remote engine kill — the ability to stop your vehicle engine from your mobile phone no matter where you are. This guide explains exactly how it works, which E-Tracking packages include it, and how to use it safely.

What is Remote Engine Kill on a GPS Tracker?

Remote engine kill (also called engine immobilization or remote engine cut) allows you to send a command from your smartphone app or web portal to physically prevent your vehicle engine from starting — or to stall it if already running at low speed. A relay installed in the vehicle ignition circuit opens, cutting the signal needed to start or run the engine. The vehicle cannot be started again until you send the engine resume command from your app.

How Does It Work Step by Step?

  1. You receive a device tamper alert or geofence exit alert on your phone
  2. You open the E-Tracking app and see your car moving on the live map
  3. You tap the Engine Kill button in the app
  4. The command is sent via GSM network to the GPS device in your car
  5. The relay cuts the ignition circuit — engine stalls and cannot be restarted
  6. You share the live location with police for vehicle recovery
  7. Once the car is safe, tap Engine Resume to restore normal operation

The entire process from tapping the button to the engine stopping takes just a few seconds.

Which E-Tracking Packages Include Engine Kill?

Remote engine kill and resume is included in the Platinum Package and Premium Plus Package for both cars and bikes. It is not available in the Silver or Gold packages.

Is Engine Kill Safe to Use While the Car is Moving?

Important safety note: Only activate engine kill when your vehicle is stationary or moving at very low speed. Cutting the engine at highway speed is dangerous and can cause loss of power steering and brakes. The E-Tracking app shows your vehicle speed on the live map — always wait until speed drops below 30 km/h before activating the kill command.

Can the Engine Kill Be Bypassed by a Thief?

E-Tracking GPS trackers are installed covertly in hidden locations not obvious to a thief. The relay connection is also concealed. In the vast majority of opportunistic theft cases, the engine kill provides effective protection and significantly increases vehicle recovery chances. The Premium Plus package also includes anti-jammer detection which alerts you if someone attempts to block the GPS signal — a common technique used by sophisticated thieves.

Engine Kill vs Geofence Alert — What is the Difference?

  • Geofence alert — passive: sends you an SMS or app notification when your vehicle leaves a defined area. Available from Silver package onwards.
  • Engine kill — active: you manually send a command to stop the engine after receiving an alert. Available in Platinum and Premium Plus only.

For maximum protection, the combination of geofence alert plus engine kill is the most effective anti-theft setup available in consumer GPS trackers in Pakistan today.
